Experience

June 2026 to Aug. 2026
Abu Dhabi, UAE

AI Engineering Intern at Nadeera Technologies

  • Built the agent behind Meridian, an HR policy assistant: it chains tool calls (document search, SQL lookups, a calculator) in a hand-written OpenRouter loop and tailors answers to the employee asking.
  • Tagged each answer sentence with its source, added a verifier that removes sentences it cannot trace, and resolved conflicting policies by effective date instead of silently picking one.
  • Built the scorer for a 60-question eval that needs no LLM judge (79% groundedness, 86% refusal accuracy, 0.72 tool-selection F1) and backed the system with 450+ unit tests.

Database Intern at e&

  • Built a proof-of-concept AI tool that tests proposed database changes and explains failures before deployment.
  • Worked with DBAs on Oracle, PostgreSQL, and ERP: reviewed schemas, tuned queries, helped run migrations.

Research

SMART Lab, NYU Abu Dhabi

PI: Prof. Hanan Salam / Abu Dhabi, UAE

Sept. 2026 to Present

Undergraduate Researcher

  • Building an analogy pipeline on the SCAR benchmark that extracts and aligns relational graphs across two domains; a local Qwen2.5-7B checks each match and a policy states it, flags it as misleading, or drops it.
  • Traced a failed 80-item dev run (38 empty lessons, no verifier verdict for 60% of candidate matches) to four causes; wrote batched, schema-constrained verifier calls, two policy fixes, and a revised extraction prompt.
Feb. 2026 to May 2026

Research Assistant

  • Built RuneMail, an email client that sorts, summarizes, and drafts replies with on-device Qwen2.5-3B (WebLLM).

03

Projects

nyuad.life

  • TypeScript
  • React
  • Supabase
  • Voyage AI
  • Built a Q&A site for NYUAD students that answers from 13,000+ student forum threads, official university pages, and the class schedule, with hybrid keyword + vector search, cross-encoder reranking, and cited answers.
  • Kept it free to run with a fallback chain across seven model providers plus answer caching; added a schedule builder that turns requests like "Fridays off, nothing before 10" into clash-free timetables, ranked by professor ratings.

Sprout

  • Python
  • PyTorch
  • ONNX
  • Wrote a 29M-parameter Llama-style model (RoPE, RMSNorm, SwiGLU, KV cache) and a byte-level BPE tokenizer from scratch; pretrained on 1.57B tokens to 0.391 bits per byte on held-out data.
  • Ran single-seed ablations (learned positions 1.36% worse than RoPE), instruction-tuned on 2.36M conversations (replies ending on their own: 0/20 to 19/20), and shipped an in-browser ONNX demo.

lrnit

  • TypeScript
  • Next.js
  • Supabase
  • pgvector
  • Built a learning platform where an LLM turns a goal into a curriculum, with SM-2 spaced repetition and RAG.
